Terms & Conditions

GENERAL

1. These Terms and Conditions along with the registration booking form shall form the basis of the dog / pet walking / sitting agreement between Jo’s Dog & Pet’s, Walking, Sitting & Care and the Owner.
   
   
2. The fee payable to Jo’s Dog & Pet’s, Walking, Sitting & Care shall be agreed in advance for the Pet minding / walk.
   
   
3. Jo is your first point of contact.
   
   
4. I will not take a booking / booking deposit until we have met and agreed that we all feel happy with each other.  I will provisionally book and make an appointment with you to meet up within a week to help secure the booking faster.
   
   
5. At the time of booking we cannot guarantee the sitter. (unless we have a good reason, ie, rescue dog afraid of men)  Also if there is an emergency or change of plans with one sitter, we will not leave your dog on their own, we will place another to take over.
   
   
6. Dogs must be able to be left on their own for at least 3 hours. (we have walks and pop ins to do during these times with other dogs/pets).
   
   
7. We charge extra for more than 3 dogs, we will only take 3 dogs at a time (from the same household) out for walks.
   
   OVERNIGHT SITS
   
   
8. Overnight sits are from 12pm to 12pm 
   
   They include a 1 hour walk or 2 x ½ hour walks. 
   
   Any time after 12pm will be billed as hourly or ½ hourly pop in rate as agreed at time of booking.
   
   (If you expect to arrive home really late, another night's booking will be required, as I will be unable to book another sitting that day) 
   
   If you require any extra walks this will be added to the total at a ½ hour or hourly rate.
   
   
9. ½ hour (between 20 - 30 minutes) £10.00
   1 hour (between 45 - 60 minutes) £14.00
   Overnight sits (between 12pm to 12pm) - £40
   
   
10. Overnight sittings must provide a bed and clean sheets. (these can be stripped at the end of the sitting and bed remade with clean if they have been left, to be agreed at time of booking).
    
    
11. For overnight sittings a 25% non refundable deposit is required at time
    of booking.  If you cancel your booking the deposit will not be refunded
    under any circumstances. 
    
    
12. Full payment for an overnight sit is due 48 hours before the sitting starts.  If you cancel the sitting after this time, the full payment may not be refunded.
    
    
13. Food for your Pet must be provided for the whole sit. Please ensure there is enough before you leave your home.
    
    
14. NO cameras or surveillance devices to be left on at the premises during overnight sits. (pop ins are excluded)  Our sittings are done on trust and reputation, we will not be monitored.
    
    
15. Please make sure all facilities are working at time of booking, ie, water, electric, TV.
    
    
16. We will try to stick to the dog's routine as best as possible but cannot guarantee exact timings, (examples, sometimes your dog will show uncharacteristic behaviour, may be off food for a few days, or won’t walk as normal, this has to be taken into consideration) but your dog will be fully cared for and watched carefully.
    
    
17. Wifi must be present in your home and codes provided.
    
    
18. If there is anything that you do not want touched or moved, please inform us, or put any such items away.  Otherwise we will assume that all items within the house can be touched or moved if the need should arise.  We need to feel comfortable in your home.
    
    
19. We do our utmost to leave your home in the same condition it was when you went away.
    
    WALKS
    
    
20. All walks will be done in the area of the dog's home.  If you would like them to be taken elsewhere, an hour's walk will include the travel time, and fuel expenses added.
    
    
21. We ask for at least 24 hours notification of changes, so we can accommodate that into our day’s planning.  We do try to be incredibly flexible though, so if you do ask for something urgently we will do our best to accommodate.
    
    
22. If the owner directs that the dog(s) may be let off the lead the owner agrees that no liability whatsoever shall attach to Jo’s Dog & Pet: House Sitting and Care if the dog is lost or stolen or the dog (s) runs away and causes injury or damage to itself or any third parties.
    
    
23. Dog walks and pop ins are charged at the following and to be agreed with the owner prior to the event.  These times will include feeding and drying down if required.
    
    ½ hour (between 20 - 30 minutes) £10.00
    1 hour (between 45 - 60 minutes) £14.00
    
    
24. If the dog should become aggressive or dangerous then Jo’s Dog & Pet :  House Sitting and Care may terminate the walk immediately.
    
    POP INS / SITS
    
    
25. ½ hour (between 20 - 30 minutes) £9.50 - this can include a walk
    1 hour (between 45 - 60 minutes - including walk) £13.00
    For a dog sit of more than an hour
    1 hour without walks - First hour £13.00 and thereafter £9.50 per hour
    
    
26. Pop Ins are for a quick wee break / feed / check up and some company.
    Dog Sitting can be with a walk or without a walk as per prices above.
    
    
    INSURANCE & MEDICAL EMERGENCY
    
    
27.  Jo’s Dog & Pet: House Sitting and Care is insured by Protectivity Insurance a copy of the policy summary is available on request.
    
    
28. Subject to the terms of the policy Jo’s Dog & Pet’s, Walking, Sitting & Care shall have no liability for any losses or claims arising from the behaviour of the dog unless Jo’s Dog & Pet’s, Walking, Sitting & Care is wilful or negligent.
    
    
29. The owner shall be liable for all medical expenses and losses resulting from an injury to the Jo’s Dog & Pet’s, Walking, Sitting & Care, Carer / Walker or their property caused by the dog as well as any damage to the owner’s property.
    
    
30. In the event of an emergency, Jo’s Dog & Pet’s, Walking, Sitting & Care shall use their best endeavours to contact the owner at the telephone number (s) provided to confirm the owner’s choice of action.
    
    
31. If the owner cannot be reached Jo’s Dog & Pet’s, Walking, Sitting & Care is authorised to:-
    a) Transport the Dog (s) to the owners nominated veterinary surgeon (The Vets).
    b) Request on-site treatment from the vet.
    c) Transport the Dog(s) to an emergency clinic if a and b are not feasible.
    
    
32. The Owner accepts full responsibility for all fees and expenses incurred in respect of clause 28 and shall immediately reimburse Jo’s Dog & Pet’s, Walking, Sitting & Care may be required to pay.
    
    
33. Fly Strike - if you have a particularly hairy dog, and especially if they are elderly, please can you ensure that your dog is fully clean before you leave them and trimmed if possible.  We need to be able to view your dog all over on a regular basis to ensure that your dogs / pets are thoroughly clean.  There are sprays that can be used on your dog if you feel they may be at risk
    
    
34. If your pet has become ill before you go away, you must discuss this with us before you leave, so we can determine any medication your pet may need or if we can go ahead with the booking.
    
    LASTLY
    
    
35. The owner shall inform Jo’s Dog & Pet’s, Walking, Sitting & Care immediately of any change in the information contained within the registration booking form and of any change in the medical condition of the dog (s) / Pet (s).
    
    
36.  Any amendments to these terms and conditions shall be in writing and signed by the parties.
